A lot of hard work and creative energy has gone into setting up The state51 Atelier and building it to the point where we can share some truly exceptional products with you on the 51 editions series and beyond. We’re over the moon that D&AD awards have recognised our creativity, awarding us a wood pencil for packaging design. You’ll see it in pride of place on the shelf soon. We’re putting the finishing touches to our party line up on the 11th of June with immersive set dressing, craft workshops from our atelier team, tape loops from Robin the Fog (Howlround), live painting led by the excellent Ju Canon and of course our stellar line up of live performances featuring Anushka Chkheidze, Brood X Cycles, AGAAMA, Better Corners and DJs Pete Fowler and Joe Goddard to close out the night. Yesterday was the release of Better Corners Modern Dance Gold, Vol. 1 — now record of the week from the good people of South Records who had this to say: “This is the jagged sound-scape of a remote interaction shaping up across ether. Not much physical interaction occurred between the musicians who managed to deliver their own distillates adding organic, singular approaches to this magical pot.
