Description
Clara Mann - Rift
51st Edition:
This one-of-a-kind 51st edition is shaped by Clara’s own visual language. Her illustrations and delicate handwriting were the springboard for the design. Clara’s drawings open small doors into her inner world, and to bring this world to the listener, we had Clara print fifty etchings, each one mounted on the sleeve of the atelier editions. For the box edition 51st, we mount the plate itself. No further impressions can be pulled from it; it is the singular, physical tool carved by Clara’s own hand.
The outer case presents this drypoint plate, its etched lines still holding the ghost of ink. The box is wrapped in a screen-printed, subtle dot-gradient recalling the constellation of marks that settle on car windows, a quiet nod to Clara’s deep affection for her car. Opening this layer reveals the inner casing, printed with Clara’s handwritten tracklist drawing the listener even closer to her, echoing the intimacy of the album.
Within, the record rests in a delicate inner sleeve of Japanese tissue paper, drawn out by a ribbon mechanism. Nestled alongside the vinyl are a tracing paper zine gathering Clara’s drawings and notes, and a limited edition risograph print of The Lighthouse, sketched by Clara during the making of the album.
All products were designed by Tilly de Verteuil and handmade by Nathan Sherwood in the state51 Atelier.

Reviews
'A masterclass in minimalist storytelling' - DIY'Clara Mann is already as near perfect as an artist can be' - Joyzine
'Stadiums’ uses space as an instrument, the soft tenderness at times acquiescing with silence; delicately hewn, Clara Mann’s vocal is by contrast patient and assured, a measured performance that makes sure each word hits home.' Clash
