The state51 Atelier Editions
of WHITE FLOWERS' DREAMS FOR SOMEBODY ELSE
Designed by Tilly de Verteuil in the state51 Atelier, to celebrate the release of White Flowers' Dreams For Somebody Else, which was released via state51 earlier this year
The 51st Edition
This one-of-a-kind edition explores the space between dreaming and waking, transforming the act of sleep into a surreal, physical artefact. The hollow metal pillow captures the trace of a body at rest, the imprint of a sleeping head held in fabric and frozen in time, its weight and permanence create a contrast with the softness and vulnerability of sleep, echoing the tension within Dreams For Somebody Else: a world of fleeting memories, isolation, and imagined spaces.
The exterior pillow case is hand-formed from stainless steel, its surface brushed, polished, and shaped with tactile folds. A tag etched with the band’s logo sits to the side, the stiff material choices a quiet nod to the album’s more punctuated and abrasive edges
Opening this rigid shell reveals a softer interior: a hand-embroidered satin slip case, bringing warmth and intimacy back into the object. The embroidery draws from White Flowers’ visual language, with two unique sides of original illustrations appearing across either side of the case, creating a direct connection to the band’s creative process and sketchbook world.
The collection holds a matching satin sleep eye mask, embroidered with the White Flowers logo, extending the dreamlike ritual of the piece.
Nestled within the box is also Dreams From Somebody Else, the companion book to Dreams For Somebody Else. Produced by Foolscap Editions, the book gathers reflections from the band and their creative network through art, essays, and poetry, responding directly to the music’s themes and expanding its world into a collective archive. Printed in metallic silver and black inks, the publication also includes a screen-printed poster insert, bringing together the contributions in a tactile extension of the album’s visual language.
Completing the edition is a hand-cut and etched metal bookmark, featuring the album’s central motif, a small, enduring object that carries the artwork beyond the confines of the collection.
The 1-50 Editions
Limited to 50 copies, the 1-50 Editions feature a Dreams For Somebody Else LP accompanied by a hand-embroidered sleep eye mask, featuring the White Flowers logo, and a 'Dreams For Somebody Else' companion book - complete with metal bookmark, hand-cut and etched with the central motif from the album artwork.
